Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid Training Course

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. This program is offered in traditional classroom or blended learning (online learning with instructor-led skill session) formats.

American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for Lifeguards-2 year

Prerequisite:

Participants must be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of this course

Must complete the prerequisite swim portion prior to continuing the course.

Certification Requirements:

Attend all class sessions, successfully perform all required skills, successfully complete three final skill scenarios; and pass the written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent or better on each section.

Blended Learning Class Only:

**Must complete the online portion of the class prior to the first day of the course.
